Topic Proposal

I have chosen the topic of physical activity because there are many risk factors that occur from being physically inactive and so many benefits from being active. My primary research is being done through a survey post on the facebook page of the University of Iowa Class of 2022. My primary research is focused on first-year students and if they are meeting the physical activity guidelines. Two of my research questions are do you exercise 150 minutes per week and another is what type of exercise do you do? I am going to analyze my data by comparing it to a previous research study of University of Iowa students a year ago and see if any declines or inclines have occurred.

    The topic is narrow enough, you briefly explain your topic and why you chose the topic. I think by posting in on a social media website it will get a lot of people to look at it so you will be able to collect data quickly. You clearly start what target of people you are aiming for. I think that the first question could be a yes or no question but the next question it open ended and the person taking the survey doesn't have to spend a lot of time on it. I think that the research method is very good another way is just asking people you know that work out what they do if you don't get enough responses from the facebook post.

Introduction Physical activity and exercise are topics that everyone knows they should do, but many do not know how much to do that will be beneficial for them or they know but choose or have to be inactive. First, physical activity is different from exercise; physical activity is any movement an individual does, whereas, exercise is intentional or specific movements to increase fitness. According to the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, a government funding association, adult, children, and others with special care needs have different guidelines.
